I would guess it would be more likely to damage the rubber tubes that are
connected to the tank. It could possibly cause them to burst, or "bubble",
or maybe just pop off of the tank. The tank itself seems very solid to me.

I just got the Search Sub kit and it's great. The main reason I got this
one is because it came with the air tank. I was wondering, what would
happen if, oh let's say I had a compressor attached to a running motor
(to supply the air tank with air)...Would pumping the air tank over its
"30-35x" limit damage the tank?
Any ideas about setting up a compressor w/ motor and air tank system,
please post. Thanks!

Or if you're especially ambitious, you could glue a stress gage to the tank, and run it through a Wheatstone bridge to your RCX. :) Someone recently posted, either here or on RTL, that they used a film canister (with the lid glued on) for a (...) (26 years ago, 12-Dec-98, to lugnet.robotics)
