You should not compare Win95 and its descendants to Windows NT and its
descendants. Windows ME is approximately the seventh version of Win9x to
be released (Windows 95 OSR 1, 2, and 3 (3 was basically a win98 beta),
Windows 98 and 98 SE, and Windows ME make up the family) and Windows
2000 is Windows NT 5.0 (if you check version strings, there it is.)
Whistler is/will be NT 5.1.
Compare the load time of Windows ME and Windows 98 SE.
