I expanded the RCX outputs from 3 to 12 (6 sets of 2)using 2 rotary
switches and one feedback POT (50k ohm). The 3rd RCX output is used to to
energize a motor that rotates both rotary switches and the pot
simultaneously( they are mechanically liked together by 3 gears in
parallel). RCX output 1 is routed the rotary switch one and output 2 through
the second, the feedback POT is used as a input back to the RCX and is
configured as a LIGHT_SENSOR. The drive motor is programmed (simple VB "IF"
"THEN" statements) to turn the rotary switches until the desired output is
acheived by using the postion POT (100% = CHANNEL 1, 60%=CHANNEL 2, etc..)
example: CHANNEL 1 routes the RCX outputs 1 and 2 thru the rotary switches
and energizes the robots drive motors to move FWD, REV, left and right.
CHANNEL 2 energizes the motors to raise/lower arm and open/close claws.
CHANNEL 3 energizes motors to position LEGO camers. rotates left/right and
tilts up/down.
