It works pretty well.
What you do is put a copy of your web page locally on the computer (the
laptop in this case). But, instead of hardcoding the IP address as you do
now, you put a special tag, I think it's "$$IP" - something like that.
When webcam heads to upload the first image after a dialup connect, it will
first replace the "$$IP" with the new IP address of the machine, then
upload the new page, and then the image.
The next time a user refreshes the page, they'll get the new page with the
updated IP address in it and things will magically work.
Fun stuff. :)

| Here is a shot through the robot's camera. I just added a Lego gauge. The little gauge is fun, but it times out to sleep. It has a lot of functions... a few more might be fun. (URL) (24 years ago, 4-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)
