Hi all,
We have now released the game called Co-Evolutionary Robot Soccer Show,
for which you can download the FREE software (for Windows) on the site:
http://legolab.daimi.au.dk/cerss
The prizes in the competition include 2 LEGO MINDSTORMS robot kits, 4 LEGO
MINDSTORMS add-on packages, 1 Khepera robot, 1 Webot, 5 Elekit robots.
In this free game, you can use new artificial intelligence techniques in a
very simply way to develop robots to play soccer. The robot soccer players
are developed with Darwinian-like evolution ("survival of the fittest") in
simulation. When you have developed a good robot soccer player, you can
submit this robot player to our server, which will play 50.000 matches
every night between the submitted players. In the morning, a Highscore List
is generated, so you can see how your own robot(s) is(are) performing every
morning. At the end of the competition (3rd July 2000), the best players
will be awarded the prizes (including the LEGO MINDSTORMS packages sponsored
by LEGO MINDSTORMS).
Hopefully, the game will give you a feeling of the new, exciting developments
in artificial intelligence robotics, namely evolutionary robotics, which has
its roots in the field of artificial life.
Good Luck!
