LegOS can be built with a correctly-configured GCC cross compiler; you
don't need anything from Hitachi. (Although I once found the H8
manuals on their site and found them useful in understanding the
memory maps on the different H8 versions.) IIRC, you can get a
working cross development environment by configuring binutils-2.91
*first*, and then gcc-2.95, for an "h8300-hitachi-hms" target:
[user:.../binutils-2.91]$ ./configure --target=h8300-hitachi-hms
Binutils contains the assembler, linker, and other tools necessary.
