Maze Solving is always an area of interest for the robotic community. It is
a relatively simple, bounded problem so it makes for a good introduction to
robotics or even a way to test out new platforms.
I have just released a program called MazeBots which makes a great testing
ground for maze solving algorithms as well as for introducing students (of
all ages) to robotic programming. (There is a 30 day free trial )
This is a software simulation where you can program up a robot to go through
a maze and then watch it attempt on the screen. You can create new mazes,
new robot "skins", as well. The programming interface is easy to pickup and
has been designed for ease of teaching and implementing algorithms.
