pneumatics are fun stuff, but they are also hard to
control.
I have devised a pressure regulator made out of lego that
control my presure to be in-between 0.5 kg and 0.9 kg.
Too high, it would pop out the hoses, and too low, the
pneumatics don't have enough power.
The only thing missing is how to efficiently control
pneumatics with the RCX. I have a couple of
suggestions, but the best thing would be to find
a solenoid air-valve small enough for the hose and
working on 9-12 volts. Does anyone know of such a
piece?
To find out more about my tentative explorations, you
can check at:

Thanks to tell me if you ever find a small air-valve.
Denis.

| (...) I have use valves this sort of size, but the costs are so high, that they are impractical for the RCX. (twice the cost of a complete Mindstorms system for just one valve...). Best Wishes (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics)
