  Re: Preserving old-school Mindstorms resources

A very useful site is the cs university page here: (URL) of useful tutorials and instructions. It would be unhelpful to have it disappear. All of the stuff at the legos/brickos sourceforge pages, however a backup probably isn't needed of these. A (...) (16 years ago, 18-Apr-09, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

changing speed of already running motor

We are using the NXT in a research paradigm delivering food stimuli to human participants, and have utilised the NXT# thus far. I have a quick query with regard to how it would be possible to adjust the speed of an already moving motor ? e.g. if I (...) (16 years ago, 14-Apr-09, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Preserving old-school Mindstorms resources

(...) Nice to see a few of us share the interest. :-) The best I can offer for a list of patches is what I listed in the post here [ (URL) ], along with Carl's follow-up post. That list was culled from links I've collected over the years. As was (...) (16 years ago, 14-Apr-09, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: Preserving old-school Mindstorms resources

After surfing through many sites, and (sadly) even more 404s I have been unable to find a definitive list of gcc, binutils, BrickOS etc. versions and patches that I should and could be using. Presumably everybody here has up to date versions of all (...) (16 years ago, 13-Apr-09, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Re: Help needed on gear spacing, and another question

First (zeroth?), thanks to all the information and helpful hints. I should have realized that the worm gear doesn't fit with the rack, as their pitches won't match up. That's really obvious and I should have seen that. Second, the worm -> gear -> (...) (16 years ago, 6-Apr-09, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: New LEGO Education set - 9580 WeDo Robotics Construction Set

(...) To be fair, I think WeDo is targeted at much younger audience than the RCX and NXT. The chart on page 2 of the Dacta catalog actually specifies it as elementary school only, while the NXT is elemetary school through college. Which means WeDo (...)   Re: New LEGO Education set - 9580 WeDo Robotics Construction Set

(...) It would be nice to see if the sensors can be stacked on top of a motor allowing read and write actions on the same port. Also, I'd love to know if these new parts will work with any free software. I've seen the parts (sensors and hub) for (...) (16 years ago, 5-Apr-09, to lugnet.robotics)

New LEGO Education set - 9580 WeDo Robotics Construction Set

  Re: PF train motor

(...) They made it 7.4V because all lithium polymer battery cells are 3.6 - 3.8V. Since this is a pack with 2 cells in series, you get 7.4V. A 3 cell pack is typically 11.2V. As you can see, keeping the old 9V system was not really an option if (...) (16 years ago, 3-Apr-09, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)
