(...) You can push the gearing still higher - 1:1 isn't the upper limit. But the trick with gearing is to match the gearing to the torque that the motor provides - and to use as few stages of gearing as possible. If 1:1 gearing is optimal - then (...) (19 years ago, 25-Mar-07, to lugnet.robotics)

First, I'm a beginner. So it will be very easy question for you guys. I have to make a lego robot with RCX model as fast as it possible. I just can use two motors and 4 wheels. It means I can use only a 'driving base'. I made gear ratio for 1:1, and (...) (19 years ago, 25-Mar-07, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Thanks for the heads up, this is wonderful to see. We primarily came up with the GBC idea for exactly one of the reasons you mention in the PDF - we wanted a collaborative, not competitive, LEGO event for groups, clubs, and kids. It has (...) Alexander, Thanks for the differential/pole-reverser idea. Based on your description, I was able to get a prototype running very rapidly! I'm still seeking a clean more mechanical version, but this certainly will work for now. Along the lines of a (...) (19 years ago, 23-Mar-07, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Have you ever heard the story of the Grandma who wanted a new washing machine? Grandpa was a such a good repairman, that he kept the old machine going, and going, and going. I have implemented OP_WAIT and a variant of OP_WAIT which takes a variable rather than an immediate numeric value (which in nbc is called "waitv"). I also modified NBC to accept a command line switch that tells it whether the firmware supports waits (...) (19 years ago, 22-Mar-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt.nxthacking)
