I have posted beta 24 of NBC/NXC. In practicality, it is not a good practice to kill another thread without some sort of synchronization anyway. However, if one thread is not responding for a long period of time, it will be good to allow the parent thread to terminate it. (...) (19 years ago, 29-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

The second set of arms on Mike's robot gives it better mobility. They make its overall tread length much longer, so it can treat stairs like a ramp instead of, well, stairs, and that makes it faster at climbing them. The arms also let it raise the (...) Dick, 2 questions: 1) Regarding the benchmark code used for performance analysis. How about something which will require intense sensor feedback? How about simple alignment code? One problem I foresee is that the fov of the US-sensor itself is relatively wide, so I don't know if this could provide much more obstacle direction information. (...) Not (...) I just ran across these on LEGO's NXTlog: A little Spy rover and a joystick-based remote control: (URL) - nice job Philo! I like the ball caster (OK, I'll admit bias), but I really like using a mechanical linkage to pan the US sensor to widen the (...) (19 years ago, 29-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics)

Thanks to David Wallace's very thought-provoking (although somewhat distracting) emails, I think I can put together a simple pseudo NBC opcode which will let you start a thread in a manner very similar to how it works in NQC.
