Lego haven't said they are dropping it. Some journalist suffering from premature extrapolation decided thats what Lego's original statement meant. (22 years ago, 13-Jan-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.general, lugnet.technic)

(...) More to the point, their competitors (eg MegaBloks) are churning out almost nothing BUT basic bricks. They have a very narrow range of parts. Hi, I want to hook up a rate gyro to the RCX. I already have a Servo port to hook the gyro into, but I want to use the output of the gyro as a sensor on the RCX.
