Duncan, check out my website www.snoozysplace.be.tf You will find the latest version over there, and also my emailadres where you can ask me for the password. btw, English isn't my native language, so what does "elusive bloke" mean ?   Re: What is exception "StackOverflowError" in method "<clinit>"

(...) StackOverflowError could either be a stack overflow (maximum depth is 10) or a thread that dies from whatever exception (that seems to be a bug, but I couldn't yet figure out what causes it). I suppose TextLCD.print should work, though I never (...) (23 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.java)

Re: Powering motors from the mains

(...) No, they didn't, that was just a rumour. You can power an 1.5 or 2.0 RCX by connecting a _regulated_ 9V DC supply to the battery connectors (with the correct polarity of course). To power 3 stalled motors I think you need around 1A (not quite (...) (23 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: cygwin error

(...) / (...) 1) gcc for the H8/300 can be called h8300-hms-gcc or h8300-hitachi-hms-gcc. You may need to edit legOS's Makefile.common 2) Is the h8300 gcc in the PATH? Max. (23 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: somewhat off topic, but...

Repost to proper newsgroup... ===...=== I'm NOT biased because I DIDN'T write the thing... Forth is a wonderful language that has a proven track record. I don't use it in my job simply because management has never heard about it. I don't mean to (...) (23 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

Re: Powering motors from the mains

In lugnet.technic, Mark Morgan writes:> (...) wanted to power, it is exactly what you need and no extra. Those 4548s turn up in the strangest places, though, so haunting old and poorly managed stores (TRU comes to mind, as Mark said!) that carried (...)   Re: latest legOS strangeness

(...) I may be wrong - 'my' RCX is actually my brother's, and is 3 hours drive away - but doesn't the remote control with the official firmware do float when buttons released, but brake if forward and reverse are pressed together? Max (23 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Re: Powering motors from the mains

(...) Thanks Larry and JB (via e-mail) I'll be following your advice. I'd always assumed the track power connection was hard-wired but this pic shows where a standard connecter attaches. (URL) the speed regulator facility might come in handy too. (...) (23 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Re: Powering motors from the mains

(...) 4548s were 5ukp in Toysrus a while back Someone in the UK has a UK 3 pin adaptor for $5 (URL) sure you can find a UK person to trade a controller. Mark (23 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  RE: Microscout assembly?

Last night I took apart my Microscout just to see what was going on... Unfortunately, my pictures look like crap, so it'll be a few days before I post those (at least, the closeups of the guts). In the meantime, you'll have to suffer with my equally (...) (23 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)
