  Freebsd 4.4 and legos

  General IR question
 
In general, what's the difference between the IR "signal" that the tower and RCX use to communicate and the IR energy used in thermal imaging? Is it just a matter of frequency? 2 ways that have worked for me, both using the long range IR mode: 1) Point the RCX's IR Port at the ceiling and your IR Transmitter/ reciever unit at the ceiling and bounce the signals off your ceiling.
