  RE: Ants, grasshoppers and "America"

Could you please keep posting to this list to be somewhat related to Mindstorms? I subscribe to this list to get Lego mindstorm info, and not your political views. I'm sure there is a proper place somewhere for these types of posts, please post them (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: Fwd: FW: Social Security

Interesting and tough words, however, this is the same mentality that England had in the days when people like Robin Hood had to be the "social programs". If you eliminate government, after having a democracy for so long, it would be a disaster. I (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: Ants, grasshoppers and "America"

Well, I only have one thing to say. I have as many complaints with the US as the rest of you, BUT, to borrow from Richard Feynman, don't bother to criticize if you don't have an alternative solution to offer. Do something, don't sit around and talk (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Precise turns of any angle! -- Rotation Sensor Information

(...) I believe that in this case, you should use a light sensor looking at a wheel that's white with a black line marked on it. The software for reading this is identical to what you would use for line following (a very well researched topic!) - (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Precise turns of any angle! -- Rotation Sensor Information

(...) In 'The LEGO Lugger', previously posted at (URL) the extended drive shafts for both sides of a tracked vehicle, moving in opposite directions, are summed in a differential with the difference (hopefully zero)fed to the rotation sensor. Because (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Review - DIRPD Mindstorms Sensor

(...) Thanks for that, Dave. As more non-LEGO (aftermarket) devices come out I wish there were more reviews. It's one thing to read the specs and quite another to read about a successful project using the part, stating its effective range, saying (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: missing part

(...) The earlier RIS sets included a parts list. You can verify against that list. LEGO has a very good reputation for correcting this type of problem via their customer service line. Don't know what that is in Switzerland, though. (24 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  missing part

Hello together, I bought an RIS2.0 kit at christmas. I have the feeling, that I may have a missing part. I am missing the 4th tire, which is for example needed for the the Acrobot (the biggest tire). Has anybody experienced something like this? Is (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Ants, grasshoppers and "America"

Americans? Americans would have to live in America. But the America I remember is gone. The one that helped Europe and Japan up out of the rubble of W.W.II. The big Dam projects. The interstate Highway system, communication, electrification, stuff (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Review - DIRPD Mindstorms Sensor

Hi all, Not sure if there is a better place for sensor reviews, but I figured that Robotics would be a good start. Forgive me if I posted to the incorrect place. I have completed my review of the TechnoStuff Dual Infra-Red Proximity Detector (DIRPD) (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Brickremote and lremote

Hi, where can I get brickremote and lremote? The link (URL) published in this newsgroup is dead. Thanks, Michael. (24 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

  Rotation Sensor Information

I agree this is the heart of the problem... I made a small experiment and saw strange things on my scope. Has anyone already open a Lego rotation sensor ? I'd like to have a look to internal photographs and/or see a circuit diagram. I tried to open (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: FW: The Ant & The Grasshopper

Here's a simple solution. If the Government stops taking our money they can not give it away. If Government stayed small in the first place there would be no taking from one and giving to another. If there were no Fed Healthcare, Public Schools, (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Fwd: FW: Social Security

Here is the quickest, easiest simplest and most fair solution. KILL the whole program (Social Security and the Politician one)! Stop being stupid and relying on the government to solve all your problems. Hopefully, you're intelligent enough to (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Precise turns of any angle! -- Rotation Sensor Information

(...) Excellent! Someone who *knows*! (...) I guess so. You kinda have to hope that Lego designed the sensor to work when directly connected to a motor though - they surely imagine that this will be the most common use for 'naive' users. (...) OK - (...)   Re: [Legousb-devel] Yes, the puzzle is solved - legousbtower + nqc for linux.

Re: Some remarks / questions about Brixcc

some other remarks (version 3.3.3.2) 1. when loading a large program, Brixcc gives an error message "Program execution timed out, try ..", although the downloading still continues and will finish correctly. 2. when downloading an even larger program (...)   Some remarks / questions about Brixcc

hi John, some remarks / question about Brixcc (I used versions 3.3.2.13 and 3.3.3.2) 1. "Watching the Brick" only polls when the window has focus. I use it often in combination with the direct control and then I have to be continously aware if the (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

Re: Precise turns of any angle! -- Rotation Sensor Information

Hi, I did the rotation sensor fix for leJOS. In the course of that I did a lot of tests and analysed the ROM code, so I know a bit about this. (...) You must have been very lucky. (...) Yes, that's right for the LEGO firmware. For legOS/leJOS it's (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Vision command and Lego Studio under Windows XP

System recognizes camera but I get error message - software does not support Windows 2000 or Windows NT (I suppose this is the default message for an unknown version). So.......is Lego coming out with an upgrade - seeing as any new system comes only (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.vc)
