 | | RE: Magnetic Levitator

| We tried using the Handyboard (which is faster than RCX) and it could not do it. I think the RCX is not fast enough for UNSATBLE control systems such as magnetic levitation, etc. A while back, I proposed the inverted pendulum problem as a challenge, (...) | (...) I think that it would be possible to use an RCX. I used four op amps in my circuit; the first amplifies the signal coming from the phototransistor, the second differentiates the signal, the third takes the difference of the proportional and (...) | (...) Did you check it with a load (such as the RCX) on it? Some power supplies can only regulate the voltage when there is some kind of load. If you just measure the voltage with nothing except a meter on the end, it may well be insanely high but (...) (24 years ago, 7-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)
