  Re: Handyboard expansion status

(...) I don't have one of the beta versions of the expansion board, but I've been building my own expansion boards and putting them on the HB. One thing that I've found is problematic with the HB design, in regards to expansion board design, is that (...) (29 years ago, 7-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Pcode instructions?

OK. I know this is going to be a long shot, but here goes: Are there any docs on the pcode? I.e. is there some way that I can learn what I need to learn to modify the source code pcode.asm besides reading the file pcode.asm and tearing my hair out? (...)   more address lines on expansion board

Hi Brian, When Fred and I designed the Rev 2.0 6.270 controller, we consciously made the expansion bus small and simple. For most expansion devices, the pre-decoded chip selects make more sense than sending all the address lines, since the latter (...) (29 years ago, 8-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  HB design

I got my handyboard on Saturday, and followed the assembly instructions that Fred did, and was thoughoughly impressed. Fred, you did great work, and have really done a great service to all of us. Thanks. (29 years ago, 8-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Sonar

I don't have my Handy Board yet, but I do need some help in locating a Sonar Ranging Module. I have looked everywhere I can think of to no avail. Even emailed Polaroid and asked them. Twice. Still have no response from them. Where do I get a (...) (29 years ago, 8-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Sonar

Speaking of Polaroid ultrasonic sensors, does anyone know if there's a product out there that can multiplex a few of the sensors? Thanks. (29 years ago, 9-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  RE: Sonar

The Robotics Practitioner (trp@footfalls.com has part 1 of an article about this in the Fall, 1995 edition by Bavid Musliner (musliner@src.honeywell.com) and Rick Moll (rick@footfalls.com). Part one is concepts; part 2 will present detailed design. (...) (29 years ago, 9-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Emitting 40khz IR

How do I send out 40khz IR on the handyboard IR port so that I can use a Sharp IR detector for proximity sensing? I would need a signal that wasn't modulated at 100 or 125 hz, right? Just a straight 40khz signal. Any help would be appreciated. -John (29 years ago, 9-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
