Maybe the robot could use the laser to draw spiro-graph designs on the wall, I'm not sure if the motors could position the beam that fast though. Joel Shafer joel@connect.net (26 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Rangefinding can be done without much of this hassle. I developed an application a few years ago to "showcase" a product for the optoelectric company for which I worked. The product was a "position sensitive diode", aka a photodiode with two (...) (26 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I don't think I was clear enough in my last post. The $35 price includes shipping, but only for orders inside the US. International orders need to pay shipping. Josh (26 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  GP2D12 and Handyboard

Hi all! I recently got hold of a sharp GP2D12 ir range sensor (The analog version, not 8-bit serial) Upon connecting it to my handyboard (Vcc-5v, Gnd-Gnd, and Vo to analog port) I get between 249 and about 251 value from the analog port. Clearly no (...) (26 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Try Micro Mo, they have high quality motors and gearheads. They can be pricy if (...) (26 years ago, 9-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  wireless camera

I remember sometime ago a discussion on wireless cameras. I just saw this one that can be battery operated. and is 900mhz. from the picture you really can't tell the size of the camera but I thought I'd pass it along. (URL) (26 years ago, 8-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) It says Camera Dimensions: 2" x 3.75" x 5.5" and that's probably not including the battery box or antenna. (26 years ago, 9-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: !!! Laser attachments for Mindstorms !!!

(...) I was actually working on something like this using one of those cheap little $8 laser pointers. The idea is to use a pair of mirrors that can be rotated to specific angular locations to build an X-Y Laser Plotter. One mirror rotates (...) (26 years ago, 9-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)
