After arriving at Zellers for the 30% off discontinueds sale, I immediately got
this one. Fearing a complete takeover by Town Jr., I decided it was time to
buy the enjoyable town sets intended for people over eight. I paid about
$17.50, $20 after tax. Although it was the first of three sets I bought today,
it was the last to be assembled. It actually stayed bagged until I got home!
As suggested by the instructions, I built the airstrip first. I wondered what
the inside of the building wold be like, as no pictures were on the box. The
big surprise? Absolutely no furniture at all. The structure is still good
though, I like the use of the grooved 1x2 bricks and the nice window. The
printed pattern on the roof could be unique to this set. Next to the building
is a wind-checking tower, which is made almost entirely of elements that are
new to me. The rest of the yard is covered with fuel drums, which leads me to
believe that this is a refueling station. The other model is a plane, which I
think is great! It has a very complete look, including a fully closed cockpit
(rare!). Love the colour, love the shape, love the parts, great plane! The
storage area is a good idea, even if you can't fit a 3x4 crate in there. Not
the most exciting set, though a shack in the middle of the desert seems to be a
UFO-sighting hot spot. Well, I like all of my new sets, and I don't have any
major complaints about them. Another good, discontinued model thats still out
there. Reccommended to all town lovers that were disappointed with the newer
assortment.
