Knowing that discontinued toys were 30% off, I went to Zellers today to get
some of the older LEGOs for my collection.  I definately did not plan on
getting the 6915 though, I didn't kow it would be there.  But for some reason,
I had a craving for a Space set!  The Warp-Wing did not disappoint.  Originlly
in the $40 range, it had been marked down to $35 and came out as $25 on sale.
with tax, it was about $28.  It has 234 pieces, and many of them were new to
me.  They were the printed quarter-saucer pieces, the printed trans green
windshield, the printed trans green side panels, the printed upswept back
wings, the printed 2x2 tiles, the printed 1x2 tiles, and the unique alien
minifigs. I like the printed quarter-saucers, there is no way I could ever get
a sticker over a large curving surface without folding or wrinkling it! There
is a special light up decal on this set. It doesn't reveal any secrets to the
aliens' plans, but it does have one special surprise- it is a mood-ring type
material that can be different colours depending on how hard you press.   Very
nice touch.  The minifigs are great.  They are the alien leader and one of his
cyborgs.  The alien leader has an extremely funny facial expression that told
me I didn't want to miss this set.  He really looks like he's having the time
of his life zooming around in his ship!  And his orange head can be used as a
Jack O'Lantren in a haunted house scene.  The cyborg isn't as cool, lacking
headgear or a unique expression, but is still a good addition to the
exraterrestrial family.  The cyborg sits in a compartment where he is supposed
to be a navigator.  I think that is kind of dumb, since he cant see or do
anything in there.  I think the compartment would be good for holding an
abducted Town minifig though! Or some energy orbs. Although this is a 1997 set,
it has a 1998 product brochure.  My 6566 Bank was also like this.  The main
model looks great, and is compatible with both its natural setting, Space, or
its new domain of Town.
