I'm very dissappointed with this set. Building the X-wing, snowspeeder, Y-wing,
TIE-fighter and the speeder bikes was lots of fun, and the sets was fun to play
with. But the A-wing was boring to build and you really can't do much with it.
It follows the original A-wing design, but I think it's smaller than the "real"
one. It has a small storage compartment behind the pilot, where a box is stored.
You can open the cockpit canopy, and a hatch to take out the storage container.
The cannons can turn vertically up-down, I'm not sure if the can do that in the
movie. This is the only thing you can do with it. You can't flip wings, open
lots of hatches, detach things from it (well, the cannons are detachable) etc.
And it's not fun to swoosch around, either. It's to sturdy for that, and the
three stands on the bottom of it are in the way when doing that. You can have
it for display, but I don't like that either. I think it will be the first SW
set I'll mix in my box of bricks.
Parts-wise, though, it's good. You get a SW canopy, two red engine elements,
gray and red slopes, two classic space grey wings, 2 minifigs (one maintenance
guy and a pilot) and *two* trans-yellow visors!
Overall, I don't like this set at all. I'm disappointed and I almost regret that
I bought it. It's ugly, the stands are in the way, the pilot's helmet had blurry
printing (something I've seen on many SW sets, BTW) and you couldn't do *
anything* with it. On a scale from 1 to 5, I'd give it a 2, because of the red
engines and the extra yellow visor.

| I felt *EXACTLY* the same way about this set! If you read back a few months I reviewed it myself and said that I thought it sucked which generated a great number of comments from people who liked it because it was accurate as far as the movie was (...) (24 years ago, 8-May-00, to lugnet.reviews)
