  Re: 4x2ReVu: 5925 Pontoon Plane

I couldn't agree more with your two stud rating on this one Joseph. But, as usual your review was an eight stud piece with an even more exciting opener. Keep these coming Joseph. You have a few to go before you are caught up and ready for July (...) (25 years ago, 12-Nov-99, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.adventurers)

  4x2ReVu: 5925 Pontoon Plane

Competition between the Chaffos and Masterson explorer companies has always been volatile but it's only recently turned lethal. This morning Jeremy Masterson is on a recon mission to an out-of-the-way tributary. Rumors suggest that there are ruins (...) (25 years ago, 12-Nov-99, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: 4x2ReVu: 5938 Oasis Ambush

(...) I am all choked up Joseph. My opinion actually counts for something? Thank God for internet LEGO discussion groups! People do listen...now if I could get my wife and kids to do the same. Wishful thinking I know. Cheers Joseph, Mark L (25 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.reviews)

  Re: 4x2ReVu: 5938 Oasis Ambush

(...) One more reassessment on an original rating. I'm going to give the set six out of eight studs for a simply-designed but well-defined model. Thanks to Mark Lindsey for asking about my conservative ratings on this wonderful theme that made me (...) (25 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.reviews)

  Re: 4x2ReVu: 5909 Treasure Raiders

In lugnet.reviews, Joseph Gonzalez writes: --snipped review-- (...) Just doing a quick reassessment on a couple of reviews. This set really deserves to be a seven-stud set for its great vehicles and a plethora of accessories for the minifigs. I (...) (25 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: 4x2ReVu: 5938 Oasis Ambush

(...) know. Hi Mark I've yet to give out an eight stud rating (but I still have LOTS of reviews to reprint). I believe I did give a seven stud rating to the 7150-TIE Fighter/Y-Wing set and I'll probably be giving seven studs to the 5988 Forbidden (...) (...) That's definitely a find of the week (in my book anyway). <Whiney Whiney>How come I never find stuff like that???</Whiney Whiney> ..joseph g (25 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.reviews)

  Re: 4x2ReVu: 5938 Oasis Ambush

In lugnet.adventurers, Joseph Gonzalez writes: <snipped review> (...) When I was in LLC, they had this set among a bunch of smaller ones in the $2.95 bins. I rubbed my eyes, and when they were still there, I picked up a dozen or so. Does that count (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.reviews)

  Re: 4x2ReVu: 5938 Oasis Ambush

Hi Joseph, This is not a criticism but a genuine question; what sets have you given an eight stud rating? I really like your reviews and always read them (in fact I save them in a seperate file). I noticed that even on the Adventurer sets you (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.reviews)

  4x2ReVu: 5938 Oasis Ambush

The desert sun is setting quickly on the Pedestal of Anubis dig site. But Matthias Snidely continues to work feverishly in the half-light of dusk on what he is certain is the opening mechanism to the crypt. Workers have long since retired to their (...)   Re: 8226 Mud Masher - Mini Review

The Mud Masher was one of the first Technic sets I bought following MindStorms (after my dark age). I think it is a bit expensive for what it is, but the design is very cool. This model ranks with the very most 'playable' LEGO models of all! Build (...) (25 years ago, 29-Oct-99, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.reviews)

Re: 4x2ReVu: 6977 Arachnoid Star Base

(...) I think there's only five dark grey struts (an oh so useful number). (...) Give the SW line some time, they may do it--I'm just hoping for non-UFO grey though! (...) It's also $35 at a Wal-Mart around here--I'm waiting for it to go down (...) (25 years ago, 28-Oct-99, to lugnet.space, lugnet.reviews)

Re: 4x2ReVu: 6977 Arachnoid Star Base

(...) Hi Paul, The majority of the plates are blue (though there are also some black) and most of the dark grey bricks are sloping. Those black saucer bottom quarters also appeared in the 6198 Sting Ray Stormer. Hey, black saucer TOPS would be kind (...) (25 years ago, 28-Oct-99, to lugnet.space, lugnet.reviews)

  4x2ReVu: 6977 Arachnoid Star Base

Rock Raiders stationed at the Termitia Helmound colony just realized they've probably bitten off more than they can chew. The odd noises and vibrations that RR sonar has been picking up lately have just been explained as an entire wall of the (...) (25 years ago, 28-Oct-99, to lugnet.space, lugnet.reviews)

Re: 8226 Mud Masher - Mini Review

(...) Thanks for the reviews! I had actually purchased this set to get a couple of parts that I thought I would need for MindFest but didn't. (Two red angled Technic beams, in case you were wondering -- yes, color _is_ important.) I just built the (...) (25 years ago, 28-Oct-99, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.reviews)

Re: 8226 Mud Masher - Mini Review

(...) I was pretty impressed with 8226. Normally I don't expect much from the Tech-Play line - especially with such a small set - but I really liked the steering mechanism. Very clever. Dave (25 years ago, 28-Oct-99, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.reviews)

  Re: 4x2ReVu: 4559 Cargo Railway

(...) Correction the link above leads to a nice design for an AMT 2000 locomotive. The Genesis is taller and would probably look better with the tall club car design. - Jim ___ (25 years ago, 27-Oct-99, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.trains, lugnet.space)

  4x2ReVu: 5958 Mummy's Tomb

It sits at the very entrance to the Corridor of Kings, an almost nondescript tomb to a slave priest. Where other slaves were cast aside, this one was lifted to a high and prominent office for his cunning and ruthless powers. Now placed as sentinel (...)
