Re: Announcing the first BrickJournal Contest...

(...) Keith, sorry for the ridiculously slow reply. The reason behind the word limit is that a page layout on BrickJournal is 500-700 words a page, with 30% space left over for photos. With all the stuff coming through for Issue #2, it was (...) (19 years ago, 30-Aug-05, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal, FTX)

Re: Announcing the first BrickJournal Contest...

Sounds like a great contest Joe, my only complaint is the 500 word minimum. Some of us only get rolling at 500. -Keith (19 years ago, 23-Aug-05, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal, FTX)

  Re: A new project...

(...) Ya. It was just a gentle ribbing, don't take me too seriously. I love the Rev's work. He is probably the current record holder for the Most Interviewed AFOL though. You should get him to actually write an article - that'd be worth reading. (...) (19 years ago, 29-Jun-05, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal, FTX)

Re: BrickJournal (was Re: A new project...)

(...) You do have the advantage of an inside line to the company though. Those are the bits I found most interesting. Stuff on the development of themes and models would be fascinating. (...) That would be super. The stuff on actual building was (...) (19 years ago, 29-Jun-05, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal, FTX)

Re: BrickJournal (was Re: A new project...)

(...) Thanks, Joe! One of the challenges BrickJournal faces is trying to stay timely, given that I am making this quarterly. Because of the lengthy period between issues and the nature of the typical AFOL (wanting to find out things that are (...) (19 years ago, 29-Jun-05, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal, FTX)

  Re: A new project...

(...) Allister, My quick answer is: Yes! Actually, BrickJournal is meant to be both a magazine for reference for AFOLs and a magazine for the general public to see and possibly join the community. It could be said that the mag is slightly (...) (19 years ago, 29-Jun-05, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal, FTX)

BrickJournal (was Re: A new project...)

(...) Just as another data point, I don't agree -- I read it cover-to-cover and while I did know some of the content already, much of it was new, and it was all enjoyable reading. Best, Joe (19 years ago, 28-Jun-05, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal, FTX)

  Re: A new project...

(...) Nice one, but geez, yet another interview with Brendan Powell Smith ;) Just wondering though; is it intended to be a magazine for AFOLs or about AFOLs? If it's the former, there's not a lot in there that we don't know already, and if it's the (...) (19 years ago, 27-Jun-05, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal, FTX)
