I generally dislike the changes Dejanews makes periodically to their
site. The latest incarnation - Deja.com - is particularly bad. It's
even hard to tell that it is supposed to be a web-based USENET gateway
with its emphasis on ratings and communities and all that. But one new
feature that I REALLY like is the ability to receive newsgroups by
mail. The problem: it doesn;t work. I first subscribed to r.t.l. by
mail last week (I chose full daily digests). I got a digest the next
day.... and then nothing. I resubscribed to rtl and tried again....got
it the next day....and then nothing. I wrote deja.com and they said
they knew there was a problem and that they were working on it. Well,
after several days of waiting, I erased all cookies from deja.com,
re-registered as a deja.com user and resubscribed to rtl by mail...we'll
see if that helps. I sure hope it does, because I cannot rely on my
newsserver to receive rtl and the deja.com news-by-mail service would be
ideal for me. Has anyone else had experience/problems with deja.com's
service?
