Perhaps this problem could be approached from a different way:

Create an "adult user" area on brickshelf where A)"questionable" content
like Rev Powell Smith's creations can reside and B) All new content is
uploaded to and immediately viewable by registered users with the adult flag.

Once content is approved by a moderator, it can be moved to the "general"
area where children can view it. This would solve the problem of uploads not
being immediately viewable. It need not be a visible split between areas,
but could be accomplished by having users register and log in. (and users
with the adult flag could view new or controversial content).

How to verify that a user is an adult? Something could be done like ebay
does where they check your credit card but don't actually charge anything,
or if Kevin Loch can not do that, perhaps a penny or two could be charged to
the card. I'm sure something could be devised for AFOLS w/o credit cards.

This is just an idea, feel free to add ideas or modify as desired. I do
think something like registering users would be much more desirable by the
users and more feasible by moderators than the waiting period and the
thousands of folders to sift through.
