Hi,

I'd like to have an effect like this on a web page: A series of images
are loaded into the client browser in the background in a
"transparent" fashsion, and displayed when the user clicks on certain
links.

Can such a thing be achieved with a Java applet, or do I need
JavaScript?

Do you mean a function like this?

(my model repository)

or like this,

(My Lego entry page)

As you can see they are mouseovers that chang one grafic into another. Basicly
anylink can a mouseover the way I know how to do it. It uses JavaScript to do
its work. But I dont know anything about regular Java so if you use that I cant
help.  But if you want to use Javascript here is a pretty good tutor on how to
make "magic buttons". All I know I learned here:

Hopefully this helps, if not, oh well.
