  Re: New homepage for LUGNET

(...) I don't get it. Does Legofan.net have better membership packets? (21 years ago, 19-Feb-04, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.publish.html, lugnet.general)

  Re: New homepage for LUGNET

(...) This has been on my list for awhile, I guess I'll speak up... BL has a cool feature for the discussion forum. It has a calender showing posts by date: (URL) I'm out of town for a weekend, it makes it very easy to pick up where I left off. (...)   Re: New homepage for LUGNET

(...) I've been a 'member' for a while and I couldn't give a rip for a 'packet'. The pros of LUGNET by far outweigh the "at the time was a good idea but now that it's only Todd and time marches on so, eh, whatrya gonna do?" missing membership (...)   Re: New homepage for LUGNET

(...) Oh please. Todd asked for some constructive input and volunteers to help improve on LUGNET, and you totally sidestep the point of his post and use this as an opportunity to take a pot shot at it. If you want to point out problems, I for one (...) (21 years ago, 19-Feb-04, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.publish.html, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: New homepage for LUGNET

So what was all this about? (URL) have two words to explain why some people are getting disatisfied with LUGNET: "membership packet" (21 years ago, 19-Feb-04, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.publish.html, lugnet.general, FTX)

  New homepage for LUGNET

Someone brought this up at BrickFest PDX and others agreed it would be an excellent idea: Rather than mainly linking to internal LUGNET resources, the first thing someone should see when they visit the LUGNET homepage is iconic links to other major (...) (...) Nah, you can draw on a post-it note. You can even use colored pencils. :) What I mean by "post-it note style" is that there's a big, grid-like board, and conversation happens by people coming and putting a note into the general area of the (...)   Re: LEGOFan.net - central community run hub for all areas of the LEGO community.

(...) I'm a professional Software Engineer with 3 years of PHP and mysql experience, were I to log in and discover poorly commented, badly structured, inefficent code I don't think I'd laugh, I think I'd fix it. As a community, I think you are (...) (21 years ago, 17-Feb-04, to lugnet.build, lugnet.castle, lugnet.general, lugnet.lego, lugnet.publish, lugnet.space, lugnet.starwars, lugnet.trains)

Re: LEGOFan.net - central community run hub for all areas of the LEGO community.

(...) Icky. What about when amatures come in and write code that is... laughable... at best. Then you have a website made of mangled, chaotic code that definetly does not help the community at all.   Re: LEGOFan.net - central community run hub for all areas of the LEGO community.

(...) Without saying that you are wrong in that assessment, let me ask on what basis do you make that claim? If Lugnet is the final answer, why do other sites start? Do those that prefer it do so simply because Lugnet is all they know? Is it really (...) (21 years ago, 13-Feb-04, to lugnet.publish.html)

Re: LEGOFan.net - central community run hub for all areas of the LEGO community.

Hello! (...) Well, most AFOLs already have been LEGO fans as kids and - after a periode of neglecting the brick, the so called 'dark ages' - found back to their old love. That means: For the purpose of growing hard core LEGO fans it's necassary to (...)   Re: LEGOFan.net - central community run hub for all areas of the LEGO community.

(...) Well, heck, maybe I'm confused and that confused you in turn. I don't spend that much time at the two levels you mention at C-C, so they don't bother me. They give me the minimum clutter to move on to where I want to go. Not that I actually go (...) (21 years ago, 13-Feb-04, to lugnet.publish.html)

[ followup-to .publish.html, since this isn't generally interesting. :) ] (...) And that is indeed why I'm confused. I was referring to the phpBB on Classic-castle in the paragraph you quoted. [ -> .org ] (...) So what would be available to not-logged-in users? Greatest common factor?
