Christopher was kind enough to bring this thread to my attention or I would
have missed it completely, not being a frequent scanner of Lugnet.
Christopher, your apology is of course fully accepted. :)
Yes, it is true that the particular sets you mention are priced rather high.
In this case they came from Singapore about a year ago and I was not able to
get a good price on them myself (they cost quite a bit more than the current
US Shell stations price!). It is one of the risks of my business that they
are now selling them in the US.
Personally, I think it is very cool that Shell is now selling these sets in
the US, and if their pattern for the last batch of Lego continues, we may
see them all over the country in coming months. And in the meantime I'll
just be sitting on a ton of overpriced Shell sets for a long, long time! If
we are all lucky (except possibly me) Lego will release more and more sets
worldwide instead of in specific regions.
