  Re: The Whaling Brig 'Egregious'

(...) Excellent idea. Two pieces: a stern/bow section and a straight one to allow different lengths. Just similar to multi part floating boats of the good old times (no this was even befoe lugnet). It actually looks awesome, too. This would be the (...) (18 years ago, 7-Dec-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  Re: The Whaling Brig 'Egregious'

(...) Thanks! (...) I'm hoping Lego will see how good a two piece rowboat/whaleboat will be and follow my lead. ;-) (...) You never know... Cheers Richie Dulin (18 years ago, 7-Dec-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  Re: The Whaling Brig 'Egregious'

(...) That must be what makes it "Egregious." :) Seriously, nice ship with a great write-up, and some awesome building tips too! Arrrrgh! (18 years ago, 7-Dec-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Red Drake Black Knight Flagship

(...) That's a most impressive flagship. Very ornate, but also quite plausible, and nicely shaped. The gaff arms on the mizzen perhaps look a bit modern compared to the lateen arms on the forward three (!) masts, but otherwise, most impressive (...)   Re: The Whaling Brig 'Egregious'

(...) This ship really looks awesome. I also appreciate the very nice detailing both in the model and its fine descriptions, while preserving the minifig scale simplicity.. If only you wouldn't spoil the game by cutting an authentic lego piece into (...) (18 years ago, 7-Dec-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  Re: The Whaling Brig 'Egregious'

(...) Thanks! (...) LOL. Whalers carried a lot of hardware. (...) While the stern gallery can swing downward, it doesn't open up enough to be useful. The hinge is just the mechanism I used to achieve the strange angle of the gallery. Cheers Richie (...) (18 years ago, 7-Dec-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  Re: The Whaling Brig 'Egregious'

A wonderful write-up on an interesting ship. The longboat looks real good and the crew is certainly eclectic. You were going for some sort of record for harpoons? I mean really, I don't see how you could have fit any more on there. :) Does the stern (...) (18 years ago, 7-Dec-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  The Whaling Brig 'Egregious'

Ahoy! The newest arrival in the waters around Port Brique is the whaling brig Egregious. Whalers have tended to operate further south, but Port Brique was a resupply stop for Captain Warning in his hunt for a peculiarly coloured great whale. (URL) (...) (...) SJ himself uses the 1x1-cone-with-flame shown in this image: (URL) others in that image, I came up with as part of an experiment to try to show a ring of fire and/or "explosions": (URL) (18 years ago, 2-Dec-06, to lugnet.pirates)

A couple rounds of Evil Stevie's Pirate Game

For his 17th birthday, my son David asked to get some of his friends together and play Evil Stevie's Pirate Game. This sounded like fun, except that: I had never played ESPG I had never game-mastered (well, once, but that was 16 years ago) We didn't (...) (18 years ago, 2-Dec-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  HMS Inevitable

Well hello fellow lego people. For my 21st birthday i was blessed with a lego Black Seas Baracuda. Inevitably it ended up being modified somewhat and now well. It became the HMS Inevitable, A nice ole Escort frigate.... She is more the adequately (...) (18 years ago, 24-Nov-06, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.boats)

  Re: The Gold Ship

(...) That's a great display! Mind you, with that much gold, the old 'Clipper would sink straight to the bottom, so pirates wouldn't be that much of a worry. Spotlighted. Thanks for sharing. Cheers Richie Dulin (18 years ago, 15-Nov-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  The Gold Ship

  Re: The FRS Marauder

  Re: The FRS Marauder

Hey, nice idea, taking floating rocks in a new direction. Nice construction too. The masthead and sky barnacles are great touches, and the overall shape is quite nice. I like that there's a tall lookout perch even though they'd presumably all have a (...) (18 years ago, 5-Nov-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  Re: Men O'War film

(...) I'd fancy the LW Legoizer script (URL) they used as a stand alone or as LDDP plug in. who's gonna ask if they could port it? w. (18 years ago, 5-Nov-06, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.pirates)

  The FRS Marauder

Presenting the Floating Rock Ship (FRS) Marauder: (URL) This is the latest in my FR series. Here, Captain Cirrus and his crew have taken a sail to a floating rock, and have made it the "Scourge of the Skies". Luckily, this ship is covered with (...)
