Very nice work again!

I love the look of the three tiered BSB sails. And the colour scheme is great, too.

To my eye, the Orion’s mainmast is too far aft, and I think both vessels could benefit from some tumblehome in the hull shape... but steep slopes are hard to come by...

these 2 ships are fine examples of british ships.

Indeed they are!

i tried to be as accurate as i could be, and i have made many improvements over my first attempts at ships. the Rec has 20 guns, while the Orion is a 14 gunner. they are both built for looking good while being functional, at which they excell. :-) the Rec is 4 center sections long, and the Orion is 3. i like to use Lego BSB sails, and found that anything longer than 4 center sections was too long, and did not look right with the BSB sails on it. i tried my own custom sails, but never got the hang of it, so i decided to scrap the idea and stick with what i knew.

Have you thought about taking some scissors to one? You could probably get two gaff sails out of a main...

there are a couple of pics with the 2 ships together:

i have also included a teaser pic of my other ship, as yet unnamed, which is complete, but minus most of her crew.

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=452596

the pic shows most of her, but not all. there will be more pics of her to come, as soon as the impressment gangs return. :-) anyway, i tried to be accurate to ships of the time, but one cannot do everything in Lego. please let me know what you think, feedback, questions, comments, concerns, constructive criticism, anything! sorry about the quality of clarity on the pics, i am no photographer. anyway, hope you like them!

I do! Excellent work.

Cheers

(...) thank you! (...) i really really like the red and white sails, even though they are not accurate. i also like the black white and yellow color scheme of the BSB, but when taking pictures, it is hard to make out details, because there is so (...)
