Well, HMS Floater is still on the blocks, as I was lacking in
inspiration, and some good pictures of frigate rigging. That's been
solved after a visit to the Grand Turk while she was at Liverpool, but
now I just lack the time & space to get everything out, rebuild the hull
(again), get the masts & spars right and improvise ratlines, braces &
sheets from LEGO strings & threads.

So the answer is: as long as a piece of string :-)  Although 20 hours
probably isn't too far out in man-hour terms. More like six months
elapsed.

Good luck with world peace, by the way.

Ahem:

Anyways, this is the lead-in to my question:  How long does it take for
people to build really amazing pirate ships / regular ships?  I know how
long it took me to build _Gloire_ (20 hours), but I'm wondering if
anyone has any long-term projects, etc.
