Re: teen FOLs: do we actually exist?

(...) Vignettes should be good. They cover all themes, and the small size allows people of any collection size to participate. ~Kevoh (21 years ago, 16-Jan-05, to lugnet.people.teens, FTX)

Re: teen FOLs: do we actually exist?

(...) Yeah right. Easy for you to say. We need something which will encompass ALL themes. Teen builders lurking in all themes need to be woken. Else, I could just as well say TRAINS! and someone else would say CASTLE and we'd all be in a fine mess. (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jan-05, to lugnet.people.teens, FTX)

SNIPPY (...) SNIPPY WAIT! Your'e a teen??? and here I thought you were older :-) (...) Yes, but it seems like there isn't much to say; I come here everyday, but hardly ever post. (...) I agree. Maybe some sort of a contest? which is open only to (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jan-05, to lugnet.people.teens)

Re: teen FOLs: do we actually exist?

(...) Ever heard of Ross Neil? :^p Even besides him, many of us TFOLs, I should daresay, are as good as the adult builders in some cases. And for me at least, I make no qualms (or however you say it) about being a Lego fan. Not that anyone ever (...) (21 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.people.teens)

Re: teen FOLs: do we actually exist?

(...) Hi everyone, I couldn't agree with this more. Probably the only reason this happens is because the mind of a 6th grader if far more sensitive to peer pressure and teasing in general than a teen. Getting older as a person, a teen becomes more (...) (21 years ago, 7-Jan-05, to lugnet.people.teens, FTX)

  LEGO Mindstorms competitions

Does anybody know of LEGO Mindstorms competitions for teen-agers in Germany/Europe that don't impose any limits on the used programming language? FFL looks O.K., almost no limits (except motors, RCXs and sensors), but that's only fair. RoboCup (...)   Re: teen FOLs: do we actually exist?

Thomas- As a member of SCLTC, I can tell you there are plenty of teenage Serious LEGO Builders out there (forgive me, I dislike the term AFOL). I meet a lot of visitors at our LTC shows who are teenagers and/or in college. The teenage issues are (...) (21 years ago, 4-Jan-05, to lugnet.people.teens, FTX)

teen FOLs: do we actually exist?

These are just a few thoughts that I have had: You can easily divide LEGO fans into groups. first of all, the little kids from about 0-9 that just play with LEGO. this group is becoming the only group LEGO (r) cares about, if you look at the impact (...)   RE: New invention instructions

(...) Participating the state FIRST LEGO League Tournament is a great idea. However, the challenging effect varies greatly. I guess it really depends on who holds the events. I went to one held in my state, I was completely disappointed. It turned (...)   New and old to lugnet at the same time :-)

Hi Everyone, I'm Samarth Moray, and I'm 16. I've been playing with Lego, like most of you, since I was a kid. I'm new to lugnet because this is my first post, but I'm 'old' to lugnet because I've been lurking around for a year now. That basically (...)   Re: Why I kept my age a secret

(...) hey, I wasn't speaking for .space but generally! I didn't see where the FUT had been set!. However I do look into .space and other places quite a lot (although I mainly read .trains and .cad) so I'll keep an eye out. If a MOC is good its good (...) (...) When I joined Lugnet, I was around 13 too. And now I'm 15. At first, I just joined as the little immature kid I was, posting a bad rendering into .trains and then posting crummy webcam pics into .castle (oddly enough, after a month I've never (...)   Re: Why I kept my age a secret

(...) Cool! I wish more teens realized they CAN participate in the adult world if they only try. Sure, it's cool to be a teen with your friends most of the time, but it's also cool to be an adult. I had a similarly empowering experience as a teen. I (...) (22 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.people.teens)

Re: Why I kept my age a secret

When critiquing I try to do a few things, most importantly provide encouragment, for some people its a big thing to present their new MOC to the world. I try to gauge the level of the builder (which isn't really an age thing) from the tone of their (...)
