I believe that there is a rather large battery box cavity in the interior of the engine above the base plate. Whats nice is that you get to this cavity via the bottom of the train thru the hanging tank. So you have the 6x8 "tank" below, the IR (...) As I see it 4) and 7) are related since for me they both solve the same problem which is this: seven-wide trains are pretty much ruined by the 6x30 baseplate. Basically it's very (...) (...) well speaking from experince the metal "c" channel does exist in the correct size and is avalable in lenghths of up to at least 3 ft. the main issue that someone would really have to contend with is the joints. creating that seemingly simple (...) (...) Already done, I did some experiments using some of the old 4.5v track. (URL) ran metal foil tape on top of the platic rails. (URL) The tape is tin plated copper for use in stain glass.
