Hi,

Been a while since I was here. Still quiet as ever, in fact more so now. Oh
well.  Hi to anyone still here!

I recently came out of another mini-dark age while other custom toy-making
hobbies had my interest, this one lasting two years. I decided to take a walk on
the (other) dark side, you know the one, about flesh minifigs for licensed
properties, and SHAZAM! I re-did my LEGO Sunnydale population in fleshtones.
Here's a link:

As my equipment improved while I was away, so did my methods. I picked up a HP
Color Laserjet 2600n on the cheap, and together with clear decals for laser
printers, I got one step closer to perfect custom face decals. The laser decals
are much hardier and thinner than the inkjet ones, because you don't need to
seal them with a clearcoat before applying them. They're also much harder to
remove than the inkjet kind, which required a really heavy finish clearcoat to
protect the decal and could be peeled off with little effort. With the laser
decals, you really have to scratch the decal to harm it. I still use the white
inkjet decals for the torso and have to blast those with clearcoat, though.

Also, I used Norbert's Milliput tips to make a couple of custom hairpieces. See
Glory for an example.

One other thing I took the time to do is color-match my inkjet printer to the
LEGO pieces in Corel DRAW, my illustration program.

Anyway, comments are welcome.

Hi Bianca (...) Well, I lurk, anyway. No new images of my work = nothing to post about. :) (...) Cool - any links? Your minifig site seems a bit isolated these days - no working link to other work that I could find. (...) Ewww... ;) (...) That's the (...) (18 years ago, 29-Dec-06, to lugnet.parts, FTX)
