Re: Announcing Advanced LEGO Lighting Systems

(...) Jordan, these look great. I've been making something similar for my own trains for awhile. Are yours constant output style? Or does the output vary with the voltage supply? It's funny, but this was something I pursued when I first got into (...) (19 years ago, 27-Sep-06, to lugnet.market.brickshops, lugnet.parts.custom)

  Re: IR train base alternative

(...) Actually a typical bridge rectifier will drop ~1.4 volts in the supply. That's alot! About a 16% drop in voltage, and a 29% drop in overall power at the top end. I'm not sure what effect this would have on the control circuitry. Mat (19 years ago, 27-Sep-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.parts.custom, lugnet.parts.mod, FTX)

(...) i never really tested it to see what the drop was. i can't imagine it was much though. ondrew (19 years ago, 26-Sep-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.parts.custom, lugnet.parts.mod, FTX)

  Re: IR train base alternative

(...) Ondrew, how did you handle the voltage drop through the bridge rectifier? Did you measure any top-speed dropout? Curious, ---Will (19 years ago, 25-Sep-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.parts.custom, lugnet.parts.mod, FTX)

(...) That is it! And I actually looked at all the Technic sets in Star Wars.I I guess I missed one. But thank you very much. John (19 years ago, 20-Aug-06, to lugnet.parts)
