Re: I need some 'modding' expertise

(...) I've never created any structure that big, but there's no way to get the brick out? Like, lay that section on its side, with the window on top, and attempt to separate the top and bottom around the window? Of course, this could also lead to an (...)   I need some 'modding' expertise

As many people know, the GMLTC is working on our largest project ever - a Lego version of the Plummer Building in Rochester, Minnesota. When we're done it should be about 7 feet tall, and use an estimated 50,000 bricks. Here's where I need some (...) (22 years ago, 21-Sep-04, to lugnet.parts.mod, FTX)

Bricks with pox! One whole box!

I just noticed that all the dk.gray bricks which I bought at the Lego store during BrickFest have got pox. Where the injection mark is, there is a plug like a pen-point bored out of what should be brick. Avast, bricks with bung-holes! Bad cycle day (...) (22 years ago, 21-Sep-04, to lugnet.parts)

Re: Help needed: my custom beards

Hi Isaac, I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my question! (...) Well, at the risk of being "one of those people", I'll start by saying there are lots of injection molding houses that will bid on work online (assuming you had CAD files of (...)   Re: New Bit...

(...) I think my favorite Dremel bit is (URL) one (they've also got a similar (URL) that's diamond-coated). I got sick of regular cutoff wheels because of how fragile they are (at least the stone ones, though the fiber-reinforced ones are okay), and (...)   Remote DCC Switch

Hi All, As Lar anticipated, combining my recent posts about the (URL) smart motor> and (URL) motorized switch> with a short bit of wire soldered to a switch track, the result is this: (2 URLs) click an image to enlarge The advantage to this is that (...)   Re: Help needed: my custom beards

(...) Hi Darrell, I suppose you already know that the cost of a metallic mould can vary depending on the complexity of the shape of the objects, but at the very least it'll still put you back by a few thousands US$, right? Well, anyway, I won't tell (...) (22 years ago, 19-Sep-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.parts.custom, lugnet.build.minifigs, FTX)

Re: Help needed: my custom beards

(...) Hi Bruce, Although I am sure Darrell would be in a better position to answer this than me, I'll try anyway. From what I can gathered, I think the rapid prototyping which Darrell was talking about, is NOT the same method which Jeff uses to (...)
