Take a look at all the great MOCs at the meeting:

The meeting was a great success. I think everyone had a great time and
enjoyed the gathering.

Hear!Hear!

We met on Saturday at Jason's house in Austin. We started at 10am and stayed
until after 6pm.

We had a good time playing with the trains and looking at everyone else's
MOCs. Everyone did an excellent job with their MOCs and showed off their
excellent building abilities.

MOC CONTEST RESULTS:
first place: Laura's Cathedral
second place: Anthony's Griffon

(who took its revenge on the Cathedral)

third place: Tom's Fantasy Train

SOME ACTIVITIES:
(Please reply with more if you can, I know I didn't get everything here.)
The train layout was just for fun and to get an idea of how much train stuff
we had as a group.

We started by laying out a huge double oval in Jason's den. From there we
added sidings and integrated buildings and bridges.

We ran various train combinations around the tracks and bridges, and we
found out the hard way which train cars didn't fit through the bridges.

Throughout the day we rearranged cars and locos, added sidings, added
buildings and created small sections of towns. Tim and I built a small
elevated oval that crossed over the main ovals.

Anthony posed his green dragon in various pictures and let his griffon
attack Laura's cathedral. Needless to say there were many unique picture
taking opportunities.

Indranil showed off his 12v trains which were quite interesting. Most of us
have never seen the old 12v's.

There were a few derailments and other crashes, but nothing serious. No one
was crazy enough to stage a head-on or other catastrophe.

(I was crazy enough to, if only you hadn't held me back-lol)

Pat brought his huge blue container of parts (sorted this time!), but the
trading activity was much less at this meeting. I guess everyone focused on
building MOCs and bringing them to the meeting.

We mostly sat around and talked about Lego while watching the trains. It was
great spending a whole Saturday with other AFOLs and sharing our common
interest in Lego.
Yes it was a great afternoon in which I had a most execellent time. Thanks to
all who made it a great afternoon!
Thanks
ShawnG
