In two weeks we'll be having the next SMART meeting. Remember, this meeting will
be meeting at a new location! We'll be meeting at DigiPen. The meeting will
still start at 2pm.

The address is

5001-150th Ave NE
Redmond, WA 98052

Here's a map: <http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/David/SMART/Maps/digipen.gif>

If you're using SR-520 to get there, take the 51st Street exit, and head west,
towards 148th Ave. Before you get to 148th, turn left at the DigiPen sign. I'll
put a small sign near the door with SMART's name on it so that you'll know which
door.

The mini-challenge for this meeting is to build two robots that can find each
other, and pass a crate from one to the other. This is the same crate design
we've used for the previous challenge
<http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=455309>.

The obvious way to do this challenge would be to build two robots. But if you
have only one RCX, you can build a 'stationary' robot, or perhaps you could have
one RCX control the other 'robot' by means of a set of long wires. Or use your
imagination and try to come up with another way.

The fundamental thing about this challenge is that there are no navigation aids
to help your robots -- no lines to follow.

Starting suggestions are to have the two robots (however you implement them) to
just find each other. Then have them figure out how to face each other. And
finally pass the crate from one to the other. (If anyone wants a super
challenge, figure out a way to get the two robots to return to their starting
locations!)

There are no obstacles between the two robots, and a suggestion is to have them
about 10 feet apart and oriented in some random direction (not facing each other
to start with).

Bring whatever you can get working to the meeting. Don't feel because you don't
have a fully working robot that your work isn't worthwhile.

See you at the meeting, and don't forget, it's at DigiPen!
