It's been a while since the last SMART meeting, but that doesn't mean we haven't
been busy. Nor does it mean that there aren't Lego robot activities that you can
participate in: Robothon, sponsored by the Seattle Robotics Society this week at
the Seattle Center, the Workshop 3D RCX Challenge on November 1st at the Pacific
Science Center (see links on our home page for these two events), and BrickHeap
Wars at the SMART meeting on November 8th!
That's right, we'll be having another BrickHeap Wars at our next SMART meeting.
This is a competition where the bricks are provided, a challenge is given and
you build your robots at the meeting. (You'll find out what the challenge is
when the competition begins.) The competition will start at 12:30 pm sharp, and
will conclude at 4:30. There are limited spots available, so show up a few
minutes early to get into teams.
The only thing we need help on is computers: If you are planning on showing up,
have a laptop loaded with software for programming the RCX, and an IR tower,
please bring them, and also contact me ahead of time so I can make sure that we
have enough machines. Thanks.
See everyone on November 8th, at the Redmond Regional Library, room 1 (right
beside the one we normally meet in), shortly before 12:30 pm!
