This sounds like it could be a good idea for next year. Thanks for
suggesting it. We might alternatively consider a "SMART-Team" robot. Any
ideas on how to accomplish that?
The one thing that would make it quite difficult for Lego robots is section
18: Penalties. Specifically, "Touching a wall". Since feelers are heavily
penalized (5 seconds added to your time per touch, or 1 second per 2cm of
sliding!) you'd need a different method of navigating.
Perhaps as a mini-challenge sometime we could have a simple one-foot wide
maze of walls that your robot must navigate. If you can do it without
touching the walls, then you'd be more prepared for finding and fighting a fire.
