NELUG participated in the Greenberg Toy and Train Show this past weekend with a 10'x20' layout. As usual, a great time was had by all. I am still sorting through the hundreds of pictures that I took of the display, so many of these should appear on BrickShelf later today. Meanwhile, I thought I'd post links to a few videos that I shot of some of our more animated attractions.
The hand-car that Joe Comeau and Shaun Sullivan designed made its triumphant
return and even took a trip to the floor. This car rides in front of a train
with a pair of minifigs frantically pumping away to stay ahead of the
locomotive:

The carnival was, as usual, a great crowd-pleaser. There was one new ride at
the show, Jonathan Dallas' spooky Haunted House. The other rides were all
veterans of our display. Joe Comeau brought his Octopus, Carousel, and Ferris
Wheel. Jamie Berard brought his (I don't know the real names of these)
Salt-n-Pepper, Spider, and Whirly ride. I shot one large video panning around
the carnival and then several smaller ones featuring the individual rides. I
didn't get close-ups of all of them because I ran out of camera memory.

We had an ambitious plan for a movie set that unfortunately wasn't ready in time
for this show (but we look forward to displaying it at our next show) but Joe
Comeau filled in with a last-minute set of a dragon chasing a helicopter. Here

And as usual, I had my automated level crossings running, although I spent the
first hour of opening day finishing the setup. I tried a new gate design, but
ended up switching back to the original gates mid-show due to numerous technical
problems with the new design. Here are two videos showing different crossings
in action. (The hand that appears at the end of the first video is someone
pointing at a detail on the display, and has nothing to do with the fact that
the gate successfully raised itself.)
