  Re: NELUG Meeting, 12-18-2k 19:30:00

Excellent! Count me in. (I'm 99.44% sure I'll be there) BTW, I've never been inside the restaurant, will it be obvious where to go? Evil Wayne ___...___ "There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness." (...) (24 years ago, 6-Dec-00, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: NELUG Meeting, 12-18-2k 19:30:00

(...) That's pretty much the whole purpose of the club! You are, of course, welcome to attend, and we'd love to actually count you as a member, too. Don't worry, there aren't a whole lot of requirements for membership- we don't charge dues or (...) (24 years ago, 6-Dec-00, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: NELUG Meeting, 12-18-2k 19:30:00

Hi there, I was wondering if your meetings were open to others or if it's a members only thing? I'm sort of interested in meeting other AFOL, but don't want to intrude. I live south of Boston, so you're the closest club to me. I've also been to the (...) (24 years ago, 6-Dec-00, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  NELUG Meeting, 12-18-2k 19:30:00

(Sorry for the wide distribution, but I didn't want to miss anyone who might be interested. Follow-ups set to lugnet.org.us.nelug) NELUG will be having its next meeting on Monday, December 18, at Bison County BBQ in Waltham, Massachusetts. The room (...)   Re: "No Contact" Homebrew Train Sensor for Mindstorms

(...) I just looked through my pictures and I was surprised to find that I don't have any that show the sensor. I will snap a few close-ups tonight... I also like the idea of doing a more formal write-up with pictures, schematics, and part sources. (...) (24 years ago, 5-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: NELUG participates in December 2nd and 3rd Greenberg Show.

(...) That seemed a bit of a waste to me as well. (...) Actually this was the main reason for me. While designing my layout (in TD), most sections had 3 and 4 tracks side by side. It just didn't leave much room for roads and buildings. (...) I had (...) (24 years ago, 5-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.org.us.nelug, lugnet.trains, lugnet.loc.us.ma)

Re: NELUG participates in December 2nd and 3rd Greenberg Show.

(...) Well I can think of a couple reasons why we went with 4 wide tables (40.25"x40.25"). 1. It was more economical. If we were to do 3bp x 6bp you only get one table out of a 4'x8' sheet. This way you get 2 tables per sheet. 2. We liked the (...) (24 years ago, 5-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.org.us.nelug, lugnet.trains, lugnet.loc.us.ma)

(...) used. I was nice to see some validation of using 4 baseplate wide tables. My table will be the same except my individual modules will be 2x4 baseplates square instead of 4x8. I'm hoping to transport the modules with the Lego on them, and I (...) (24 years ago, 5-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.org.us.nelug, lugnet.trains, lugnet.loc.us.ma)

Re: "No Contact" Homebrew Train Sensor for Mindstorms

(...) I know I didn't get a close up because my camera stinks for close ups. I think Chris may have gotten some but he hasn't uploaded his pic's just yet. If we don't have one now, we are having a meeting in a couple weeks and we will make sure to (...) (24 years ago, 5-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: NELUG Site Statistics...

(...) Yah some of them seem strange but I think the May/June spike was from posting pictures of the May Construction Site Castle display. There were also a couple of spikes that corresponded to the Brikwars pictures as well. (...) Looks that way so (...) (24 years ago, 5-Dec-00, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: NELUG Site Statistics...

(...) Weird. Very, very weird. None of the jumps correspond to anything I can think of... I do note that we're trending towards a spike in this month, though. eric (24 years ago, 5-Dec-00, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  NELUG Site Statistics...

A few members were asking about site statistics at the train show this past weekend. Anyway if you are into statistics get ready for overload. Year 2000 Stats (URL) by month (URL) Kingsley The New England LEGO Users Group (URL) (24 years ago, 5-Dec-00, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: NELUG participates in December 2nd and 3rd Greenberg Show.

(...) We kept some trains on tails of track, mostly running two at a time. But there was a short train we occasionally ran on the outside loop with the commuter rail... when it was parked, there was an engineer climbing into the locomotive. When it (...)   Re: End of the Year meeting

(...) Indeed, it seems that Monday the 18th of December (that's not this Monday, but next) is pretty much the best day for everyone. Unless I hear any complaints, that's what I'm going to call to reserve sometime tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon. If (...) (24 years ago, 5-Dec-00, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: End of the Year meeting

(...) It really has been a long time since we've had a regular meeting. Monday or Tuesday works for me and it seems like it works for other people too. sun p.s. anybody see the 2001 sw sets in the boston area yet? (24 years ago, 5-Dec-00, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: NELUG participates in December 2nd and 3rd Greenberg Show.

I think most of the stygma comes from what people either remember building when they were kids or what their own kids build with what is probably a much smaller assortment of parts then what most of us have to work with.
