To All,

Wow, your display looks really awesome. There is so much to say, but it is
great! I noticed there is a kids table, perhaps? Is that for one of those
workshops, or another purpose?

We did indeed have a kids play area and it really worked out well.  This is
the layout (from Track Designer) that we had in the kids area:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=51167

On Saturday we simply stocked it with parts and some train components and
let the kids have at it.  On Sunday we decided to pre-build some basic
chassis (6x16 and some 6x28) and supervise the play area a little better.
It wasn't quite as rambunctious on Sunday as it was on Saturday.  I had made
the mistake of putting two train motors out on Saturday.  The kids began to
set them up so they would crash into each other.  The net result of this is
one of my motors lost two of the pins that you can attach bricks to on the
end of the motor.  We also found one broken buffer but other than that,
everything seems to have fared pretty well.

I loved the trailer too, at MichLUG's Contraption show this weekend, we • were
talking about that. Maybe a big MichLUG painting on the side, heh heh.

By the trailer, I assume you are referring to the utility trailer we had all
of the tables loaded into.  That belongs to my father-in-law (actually I own
a third of it technically but we keep it at his house).  It was the perfect
vehicle to transport our tables with.

Excellent job, NCLUG! It certainly gives inspiration for our GATS display • in
a month!

Thanks for your comments and I would also like to thank all of the people
who have offered advice on how to run a successful LEGO train display, it
certainly was useful as we  pulled this together.
