I found a web site (http://www.trainfinder.com) that lists Train Shows.
There is only one listed in NC, out in Greenville on 11/6. Details are at:

I am surprised something isn't coming through Raleigh anytime soon. It
seems like there are always one or two shows in the fall. GATS doesn't list
anything either.
