As a followup to the announcment, here are some photos from the setup day
yesterday.
Classic Castle fans should note the pretty extensive medieval village in one
corner of the display (separated from the rest of the layout by a reality
barrier of large flatleafed trees) which we think may be the largest collection
of CCC buildings (17 buildings) on a layout yet. It features work by Jason
Spears, Peter Guenther, Dan Siskind (Tavern and Blacksmith Shop) and even one
building by yours truly (Barber Shop). Heres a teaser shot
Others will no doubt have images as well and there will no doubt be a full
report but consider this a sneak peek.
Heres the main (post moderation) folder link
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=63885
The folder may not be moderated yet but the images are named Dscn1260.jpg
through Dscn1313.jpg (with a lot of deletions for blurriness, and some of the
ones that remained are still somewhat blurry too, sorry about that! I forgot my
tripod)
Here are a few of my faves:
Our tree
Only PART of CCCtown
Reality Barrier
City, Large Cat in the Hat in background
Trevor Koleda, Engineer Extraordinaire (hes the only one that fits
comfortably!)
Star Power! Our Straw Boss couldnt be there for setup, but Jason stepped in
and got it all going! Here hes basking in the glow of a completed layout.
If youre in the area please do consider coming by and supporting this
worthwhile charity. Theres LOTS to see including some absolutely HUGE trees, a
Teddy bear repair shop, dozens of wreaths and lots of prizes and fun.
Oh, and a little wreath with LGB trains embedded in it, bet THAT wreath designer
was thinking they were all that... till they found themselves next to US! :-)
