So, Paul suggested a BBQ, and suggested it be closer to the South Bay
than his Oakland retreat...
Tom McD offered to bring a smoker along....
I'm thinking that we can probably reserve a picnic area under the trees
around Lake Elizabeth, at Central Park in Fremont. (This is, literally, just
behind the library in Fremont, so we're still close to BART, etc.) This
would provide some play areas for kids if they got bored with LEGO stuff,
and the lake has a 1.5 mile perimeter walking path. If we bring a few
tarps/sheets/blankets, we could even spread out some LEGOs for building. :-)
If the group gets *really* big, we should plan to bring along a few
folding chairs and card tables as well.
Of course, for a smaller gathering, someone's home would also be OK.
(Air conditioning, and TV might be nice... ;-)

Of course for me living in Santa Cruz, I'd prefer even closer still to the South Bay, but Fremont is a reasonable compromise... (...) I bought (...)
