Todd,
If I may be so bold, I would like to recommend an additional question that
may be relevant to your poll.
* If you are an adult and you belong to a club/group with younger ( e.g.
16-17 ) members, do you feel that their presence in the club/group has had a
positive or a negative effect, and why?
I can say that several years ago I made several acquaintances via an
impartial medium, similar to e-mail and newsgroups, and this forced me to
make judgments on the character and maturity levels of the people that I met
without regard to gender, race, or age. After meeting these people in
person, I found that some of them were people that I would not have normally
associated with due to differences in our ages. In most cases, I can
honestly say that my life was enriched because of my association with these
people. The difference in perspective can really be amazing, and it managed
to open up my eyes and see new people that I met in a different light.
Maturity is a difficult thing to measure. I know a few people who are my
age or older who are still amazingly child-like, and I'm not just talking
about a love of something like Lego.

Imagine my shock when I met him, and learned he was on track to graduate high school (...)
