I forgot to mention. Right before I left NPE on Tuesday I talked with a
company from Austria who specialized in moulding pipe fittings. They had a
small press set up with a mould doing U-shaped pieces. He was interested in
our upcoming competition.
The mould was using a retracting core for the straight bits, and a c-shaped
horn with a semicircular wiper that would strip the pipe off the core with
the motion of the mould opening. It was really neat to watch.
