So I picked up a copy of Toronto City Parent while cooling off after
swimming at a local pool... Strictly out of curiosity... I am NOT a parent :)
(I was thinking of Chris).

On the cover there is a "Imagine It, Build It" ad for a K'NEX TECH thing
going on at the Ontario Science Center during march break.  I've also seen
this on bill-boards.  Anyone know more about this thing?

However, inside there is a full page ad for "The Children's Technology
Workshop" summer camps in and around Toronto.  The add says "LEGO(R)" and
shows a red 2x4 brick, and below it says "LEGO(R) @ CAMP", and shows a four
legged pneumatic walker (with RCX). I think we've all seen it sometime or
other on LEGO's official site...

Anywho, on the website,  http://www.ctworkshop.com/ it talks about kids
doing projects that involve simulation, animation, robot programming, and
engineering.  What's interesting is that they teach mechanical engineering
concepts using LEGO, as well as as robot building and programming using
MINDSTORMS.  Apparently the head person is Darryl Reiter, a teacher.
It's for kids from 7 to 14.

Anyone heard of this place?  Anyone know anyone involved in it?
I was thinking we could invite this guy Darryl, and maybe some march break
camp kids to rtl13, which I believe is right at the end of march break?

Wow, I wish they had camps like this when I was a kid!!!

Smash Up Derby: Yes, it's true, Chris did beat my RACECAR battlebot
(emphasis on racecar).... :)

(...) Yup. Darryl has been in contact with us many times. Basically he is in the for-profit educational services--I believe what they do is sell their educational services to schools, with integrated lesson plans, materials etc. He very generously (...)
