If anyone's interested, I can help put some hazards
together for the playing field.
I have an air compressor and some extra cylinders that we could
use to design humm... whatever.
Depending on how we do this, it still might not be LEGO
destructive, but I can easily imagine a bot go flying several
feet.

My idea is really the same at any rtlToronto event: Come with the
expectation you'll be buying all new RCXes and parts, that way you're not
going to be pissed if anything breaks.
Lego is pretty resilient, but I'm not discounting someone could have Lego
broken. Those 8475's motors can accelerate pretty fast. If you give them
leeway to move (this probably wont' happen in a 8x8 field, it has to be
larger for manouveuring) that's a good amount of force.
